Dr. Dan Renouf, the co-director of Pancreas Centre BC, is one of the 11 recipients of the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Health Professional-Investigator Award in its inaugural competition. This highly competitive salary award acknowledges Dr. Renouf’s clinical leadership role in a pan-Canadian initiative to molecularly characterize metastatic pancreatic cancer in order to develop individualized treatment options. This large-scale, innovative project is a collaboration between multiple Canadian centres including the BC Cancer Agency and Vancouver General Hospital, and is supported by multiple funding agencies including the BC Cancer Foundation, Terry Fox Research Institute, Pancreatic Cancer Canada, and VGH hospital foundation.
